I've only just discovered that I hadn't yet written anything for this page. It's an easy mistake to make, consider how much stuff I've had to write for all the other Goodwood pages I've got here. Anyway, you know the score by now: Goodwood Festival Of Speed, cars, engines, fumes, sunburn. The show was as good as ever, with plenty to entertain and delight.

My personal highlights were the Ford GT, and meeting the great Bob Riggle. I'm sure you won't know who he is, and frankly I didn't before I started to Goodwood. But the guy is a real showman, and always thrills the crowd in his Barracuda. Not a normal car, oh no. This things has seen more than it's fair share of alterations and Bob has customised it so that it rears up on its back wheels and shoots along the track like a cross between a dragster and some sort of toy robot. The underside of the car is fitted with glass so that Bob can see where he's going, even when pulling stunts.

I think however that the best part of Bob's stunt is the fact that whilst doing all of this, he chomps on a dirty big cigar and shuns the saftey of a crach helmet for the hick-chic of a cowboy hat. You've just got to admire a man like that really.
