My good chum Edward and I nipped off to see some friends of ours, Stefan and Justina, over in Holland. They lived in Den Haag, but as you can see from the piccies we also took time to go around Amsterdam as well. We were actually over there during Queen's day, a bit national celebration of, erm, the Queen! The celebrations are huge and we went to Amsterdam on the first day of them. Never before have I seen so many people in one place all wearing orange. There were night-time concerts too, which helps explain some of these pictures.

I also managed to meet up with my mate Erik from Utrecht, one of the prettiest little towns I've seen I think, and it's got some great bars too. There was a particular odd occassion when Erik, Ed, and myself were all sat in a small bar somewhere singing Sir Mix-A-Lot tunes; "I like big butts and I cannot lie....". Those strong beers will be the death of me, probably quite literally.

It's amazing how flat Holland actually is, at least in the northern areas. Standing on Stefan and Justina's balcony we could see for miles around, and the sight of a number of approaching lightning storms was quite spectacular. I'd like to say I have some impressive pics of it, but I don't.
