The occassion: the first eBay Euro Web Dev summit. The venue: Madrid, sometime in December. Yup, this was the first of the web dev summits and the first time we'd all been together. In fact, it was the first time I had seen Anna since she interviewed me for the job. Her maternal instincts were obvious as she tried to shield us from the perils of excessive drinking. It didn't work of course, and we just snuck out of the hotel once she had gone to bed. Lucky the man who can wander the streets of Madrid looking for a late night bar! Not so lucky is the man who only got a few hours sleep and has to try and stay awake in a darkened room whilst watching endless PowerPoint presentations.
Those present were Anna, Erik, Heino, Fabien, Thomas, Daniel (although he lived in Madrid, so that's cheating), and myself. I love that second to last photo that shows someone sneeking up behind Erik in a Burberry scarf. No idea who he is, but I suspect he's killed before and he'll kill again unless he's stopped.
