Fresh out of Bournemouth University and armed with a BSc in Information Systems Management, I joined Demon Internet as an Intranet Analyst in June 1999. The main purpose of this role was the maintenance of the vast amount of engineering data and information being held as HTML documents and used for integration across the intranet system.
This required flagging expired documents to the relevant teams and departments, and then editing, deleting, or adding new documents as they were required. Considering the extensive number of pages and the sheer scope of information contained therein, this job was very much one of coping with high-volumes of workload.
